‘SWEET’ pretty much says it all for February.
Roasted Plums with Star Anise – It’s aromatic, and simple to put together.
- 6-8 plums, halved and stoned
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 star anise (I added more to style the shot)
- 2 oranges, juiced (about 1/4 cup’s worth of juice)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
Arrange the plums cut side up in an oven proof pan sized to comfortably fit all the plums, in a 375ºF oven
In a separate bowl, mix the orange juice, sugar, and honey, then, drizzle over the plums
Scatter in the cinnamon sticks and star anise
Bake in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, spooning juices over the plums at least once, until soft and slightly caramelized
Spoon on top of ice cream or top with a generous dollop of freshly whipped heavy cream.
