hey friends!
WELCOME TO GREY SALT COLLECTIVE | A FREE FOOD PHOTOGRAPHER’S COMMUNITY
hello!
the DREAMER behind GSC
What to do when workshops I run are over, but no one wants to leave?
Create a space to hang out in afterwards and call it Grey Salt Collective. Like a hip after-school club you want to join.
Wondering where I came up with ‘Grey Salt’ to the ‘Collective.’ Nothing crazy here. My friend Thomas gifted me a 25lb bag of coarse Celtic Grey Salt for cabin sitting one summer. Hooked ever since.
Salt is a food, and more fun than ‘food something collective‘, so there you have it.
I shoot professionally & I teach food photographers the artistic side of crafting beautiful food images & creating engaging food stories. I mentor, give workshops, and dream up creative prompts for the GSC Community.
I also have a newsletter you will want. Go ahead, sign up now. Never miss a challenge, or anything else I hand out, like the excellent free styling guide WAITING FOR YOU.

I love this prompt, Gina! Even though I don’t shoot professionally, it helps give me ideas for the endless social images I need to take. I needed a little flicker of inspiration!

NO MATTER WHERE YOU’re at ..
You own a camera and have access to natural light? You’re good to go.
No need to cook up or create lavish set ups. Fresh fruits, veggies, purchased baked goods & prepared foods are your best friends to work
with while practicing the basics of
food photography.
You’ve got the basics down, and then
some. You’re ready to hone in on specific skill sets & own them.
Take the prompts,
amp them up to match
your exact goals.
You know the drill, but
you’ve been stuck in the same creative
rut, don’t remember the last time you created something just for your own creative expression.
Let these prompts pull
you away for that solo creative time you so desperately want & need.
